Reduced Speed Limit in Madison County
The speed limit on a section of Route 230 just west of the village of Wolftown in Madison County will be reduced to 45 miles per hour following a speed study performed by the Virginia Department of Transportation. The changes goes into effect November 17th.

The speed limit on a section of Route 230 just west of the village of Wolftown in Madison County will be reduced to 45 miles per hour following a speed study performed by the Virginia Department of Transportation.
The speed limit reduction of 10 mph from the current 55 mph was requested by the Madison County Board of Supervisors, and will affect a 0.35-mile stretch of Route 230.
VDOT deemed the reduced speed limit appropriate because of increased commercial traffic,.
The new speed limit will become effective when signs are posted on Nov. 17.
