Just after 7 p.m., fire units from all across Fluvanna County responded to a house fire at the corner of Route 6 and Gail Hill Road in Dixie. When they got on scene, they found fire coming from a second floor bedroom.
A family was home at the time when they noticed fire coming from the bedroom. They evacuated the house and went to a neighbor's house to call 9-1-1.
No one was injured in the blaze, but the house is not livable at this point. The American Red Cross responded to the scene and is providing help for the family.
