Sixteen-year resident, community activist and nurse Holly Edwards announced her candidacy for city council.
Flanked by her husband and four kids, Edwards announced her intention at the Crescent Halls apartment complex. She thinks her years of service as a community activist and nurse will serve her well if elected.
"I really learned how to connect all those pieces of a person's life. I've learned now that that puzzle is a part of a larger issue that if a part of city council, I could better address," she said.
Edwards joins three other Democratic candidates who have officially announced their candidacy. Mayor David Brown and Councilor Kevin Lynch have not said if they are going to run again.
