A Crozet woman, paralyzed from the waist down, is reaching out to children with disabilities with the hopes of giving them a better life.

India Sims says many people don't understand the day-to-day struggles that people in wheelchairs go through.

She works as a massage therapist, and treats many patients with disabilities who want their voices to be heard. Now, she's starting a support group in Charlottesville.

"I'm starting a program for children that feel that there's no way they can overcome their disability. I'm more of an encourager, and if you know you want to do something, and you need help with something, I will find a way to help you because I know how it is," says Sims.

The first meeting will be held on Saturday, January 16th at the Piedmont Virginia Community College starting at 2:00 pm. Anyone is welcome.
