One way to make a difference this holiday season is to participate in an effort to bring Christmas cheer to all corners of the globe.
It's called "Operation: Christmas Child,' and the organization collects shoe boxes filled with Christmas goodies.
You can put any holiday items you like in the box, and they'll be delivered to boys and girls ages two to fourteen years old.
This year, "Operation: Christmas Child" says they want to collect 6,400 boxes in our area.
The Covenant of God church is coordinating the goodwill event in Charlottesville. Once you bring your gift to their church, it will be shipped to Charlotte, North Carolina, and then shipped worldwide.
In 2008, the operation sent 8 million boxes to 118 countries.
The drive starts Monday, November 16th, and you only have one week to make your care box.
