Two hospitals treating the injured say the survivors' conditions are improving.
The news is very promising about the 12 remaining victims still hospitalized. All are now in stable condition, and one is expected to be discharged sometime Tuesday.
Speaking at about 9 a.m. Tuesday morning, Scott Hill, CEO of Montgomery Regional, said they still have nine victims recovering there, while Lewis Gale Medical Center has three.
Without going into the details of their injuries, Hill said four people underwent major surgeries and two had minor surgeries. No more surgeries are scheduled for Tuesday, although Hill also noted that a patient's condition can change without warning.
They have increased security around Montgomery Regional and say that they are trying to accompany all students coming to visit their wounded friends and get answers.
The 12 remaining victims are all students.
