Elementary school students from all over Charlottesville participated in the 5th Annual Peace March Friday.
The march concluded with a Peace Summit where elementary schools gathered to further ideas on how to resolve conflicts in schools peacefully. The event gave kids a way to express their message publicly.
"I'm amazed. They look forward to it each year and they get so much joy out of really expressing themselves. These are their honest feelings of what they hear around here, around Charlottesville and it's an opportunity for them to take it to the streets" said Brian Dublirer, Clark Elementary School counselor.
All of the student participants in the march serve as conflict counselors for their schools.
