Police say a gunman who barricaded himself on the second floor of NASA's Johnson Space Center has killed himself and a hostage. A second hostage escaped with minor injuries. The building was evacuated immediately after reports of gunfire.
Police say the gunman was a NASA contract worker. SWAT officers surrounded Building 44, which houses communications and a laboratory. Authorities are unclear as to who the gunman is but say they believe him to be between 50 and 60 years old.
At this time, the gunman's motive is unclear.
