It was perfect weather for runners in the Charlottesville Marathon and Half-Marathon as they raced through town Saturday.

1,700 people from 48 different states and nine foreign countries participated in Saturday's race.

This is the fifth year it was held and the director said it’s only getting bigger.

The big marathon winner was 24-year-old Jeff Powers of Richmond.
