More than 100 students helped pick up trash, spread mulch and trim shrubs. Saturday's work was all a part of Spring Beautification Day. Many students received extra credit for their work, but the cleanup coordinator hoped they were helping for more reasons.
“It helps to get the kids involved in taking pride in their own school, and so when they're working and helping make it look nice, they will also respect the school and help to keep it clean the rest of the year,” said Leigh Surduawski, Coordinator of Spring Beautification Day.
This was the second year the school held a spring cleanup day. They also have a fall cleanup as well.
