Police Raid Home Owned By Michael Vick

April 26, 2007

Police, during a drug investigation, raided a Surry County home owned by Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick. During the investigation, they found dozens of dogs, some injured or sick, and items associated with dog fighting.

State Police Sergeant D.S. Carr said that Vick does not live in the home but that his relative, 26-year-old Davon Boddie, does. Boddie was arrested outside a nightclub by Hampton police April 20th on charges of distribution of marijuana and possession with intent to distribute.

Officials say that the dogs were found in three buildings on the property and that some appeared malnourished, scarred and injured. Wayne Pacelle, president of The Humane Society, says that his organization has heard reports for some time of the quarterback being involved in organized dog fighting.

A spokesman for Vick's foundation declined to comment.
