From the young to the younger, the Foxfield spring races were packed.
“It’s just six or seven of us, so we're having just a ball. We love it every year,” said one attendee.
Every year, all 23,500 tickets are sold out.
“It looks to me like we have even more than 23,500. Basically, we sold out of everything,” said Patrick Butterfield, a Foxfield official.
Although many people attend Foxfield races, not everyone has their eye on the horses.
Many say it’s more than just about the races; it is a social event families and everyone of every age can enjoy. Foxfield first timer Michelle Burke said her whole family has been looking forward to this weekend for a while.
“We pass by the field everyday on the way to school, and so my son kept saying when are we going to go,” said Burke.
With traffic backups hours long on the only two-lane road into the races, Michelle, her son and thousands of others who stuck out the wait said the trouble to get in is worth it.
“I look forward to it every year, especially because I get to see my cousin Sasha,” said six-year-old Jenson.
“My favorite part about Foxfield is enjoying the good weather. Love the surroundings, awesome horse races, as well with all my good friends, just having a blast,” said Hamoon Hadavand.
If you didn't make it to the spring race, Foxfield has a fall race as well.
