As the military continues to battle insurgents in Iraq, another battle is being waged in cyberspace.
In an effort to combat what the military sees as insurgent propaganda and negative media coverage on the internet, they have launched a channel on YouTube.
The site, which was launched two months ago, shows video from Iraq that the military says rarely makes the news, such as shots of a reunion between a family and a rescued kidnapping victim, and U.S. and Iraqi troops working as a team.
While the site appears to be only highlighting the positives, the military insists that they're not trying minimize bad news, but instead show that aside from all the turmoil in Iraq, there are good things happening too.
The military also insists that the events in the videos were not staged. Since its launch, the channel on YouTube has recorded 150,000 hits.
