Queen Arrives for Jamestown Anniversary

Queen Elizabeth II arrived in Richmond Thursday for her first visit to the country in 16 years. Her visit is to help mark the 400th anniversary of Jamestown, the first permanent English settlement in America.

The Queen met with Governor Kaine before addressing the General Assembly where she talked about the significance of Jamestown anniversary.

"This 400th anniversary marks a moment to recognize the deep friendship that exists between our two countries" said the Queen.

The Queen also expressed her sympathy for those affected by the shootings at Virginia Tech.
