May 10, 2007

Nelson County Sheriffs arrested a man Thursday after finding 38 marijuana plants at his house.

According to police, 39-year-old Steven Ally was growing the plants in the loft area of his home. Police also found scales and dried plant material. The estimated amount of the plants is $38,000.

Ally was charged with a felony of sell, give, distribute or possess more than one half ounce of but less than five pounds of marijuana.

"This was a great cooperative effort between both state and local agencies to take one more step forward in our effort to control the sale and use of illegal narcotics," said Mac Bridgewater from the Nelson County Sheriff's Office.
