McGuffey Park is getting a $600,000 face lift. City officials held a groundbreaking ceremony Friday. They said the renovations will turn McGuffey into a world class children's park.
“Some of the features will be more interactive play features, a water wall and the relocation of the basketball hoop so it will be better used and in a safer part of the park. [It] will also function as a amphitheater,” said Parks & Recreation Director Mike Svetz.
The park will be closed during renovations. The new and improved park is expected to reopen in the fall.
