Dogs in Vick Investigation to be Put Down

May 23, 2007

The dogs in the dog fighting investigation involving Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick will most likely be euthanized according to the Humane Society.

The organization said that all the dogs are being put down because they cannot be placed with families as pets. The dogs, 55 of them pit bulls, were seized after authorities raided a home owned by Vick in Surry County.

Vick is a registered dog breeder but says that his cousin lived at the Surry County home and that he had no idea that the large kennel might have been used for any criminal activity.
