Buy Art, Save Darfur

June 3, 2007

Buy art, save Darfur was the goal for a group of Charlottesville High School students.

CHS’s Young Liberals collected art from area schools while local artists donated some prints, drawings, sketches and sculptures to help raise money for Darfur.

Students displayed all the art for sale at the Gravity Lounge

“This was a way for me to change something either locally or nationally about my country,” said Eden Turkheimer, co-president of CHS's Young Liberals.

The Young Liberals also held a bake sale to bring in extra money.

At last count, students raised more than $100.
