Each week Dana Adams of MrsMoneySaver.com joins CBS19's Jim Hanchett to share some of the top shopping deals in Charlottesville.
This week, Adams featured some great deals on batteries at Staples and bargains on yogurt and cereal at Kroger.
Perhaps you purchase a lot of batteries during the holiday season. Staples is helping you save money on that purchase this year by offering free twenty-count packs of Duracell batteries now through Christmas.
First, make sure you’re a Staples Rewards member. (You can sign up here). Then stop by Staples and purchase up to two packs of Duracell AA or AAA batteries for $12.99 each. The eligible packs are the specially marked 16 + 4 bonus packs. Check out using your Staples Reward card, and the purchase price of $12.99 will be credited to you Staples Rewards account.
The Staples Rewards will be mailed out to you sometime in January, looking very similar to a check. You can then use the Staples Rewards to shop (like a gift card, with a few restrictions) both in-store and at Staples.com. You can get up to two packs per week free through Christmas.
Kroger is also offering some great bargains this week. In addition to the 10 for $10 sale underway, at the top of Adams' list are free organic Stonyfield Farm Oikos Greek yogurt and great prices on Kellogg's and Kashi cereals.
Oikos yogurt is on sale for $1 through Saturday, and Stonyfield Farm has a fifty-cent coupon available online to print. Kroger will double this coupon's value, giving you the yogurt for free.
On Thursday only, our Kroger stores will have select Kellogg's, Kashi, and Keebler products priced at 50% off. There are several coupons available online for these products, giving you additional savings. You should be able to pick up some of these crackers and cereals for free or very inexpensive using coupons. Click here for the list of coupons.
Dana Adams writes the Mrs. Moneysaver blog to help families live well on less through grocery strategies, coupon clippings, free products, and frugal advice.
