Passengers we're left on a less than comfortable train while crews fixed a mechanical problem before they were later told go to the bar.

The Amtrak train coming from D.C. stopped here in Charlottesville late last night and the passengers were told to go to Wild Wing Cafe. At 2am the angry passengers, including elderly people and parents with small kids, were still at the bar not knowing when and if they will get to their destination.

Amtrak said it was just a mechanical problem and they were back up and running in a couple hours, but one passenger said it was so hot on the train she started handing out bottles of water.

Amtrak said any unsatisfied passengers can call them once they reach their destination and they will address the issue on a case by case basis.

Amtrak says this is not something that happens often.
