Woman Going To Jail For Serving Teens Alcohol

June 6, 2007

An Albemarle County woman is going to jail for serving alcohol to teenagers at her son's birthday party.

Elisa Robinson says she's the victim of overzealous prosecution. She must begin her 27 month sentence on Monday. Her ex-husband, George Robinson, is also scheduled to begin his 27 month jail term on Monday as well.

The U.S. Supreme Court refused to hear their final appeal last month. Elisa and George held a party for their son's 16th birthday at their home in Earlysville in 2002.

After pleading guilty the judge sentenced the Robinsons to eight years. They appealed and the circuit court reduced the sentence to 27 months.
