This weekend is the first ever Festival of the Photograph at the Downtown Mall.
One person came all the way from Seattle just to show off his photographs.
"Yeah it's about a six hour flight" said Peter Kearns, amatuer photographer.
And just like Peter, tons of amateur photographers are lining up to show off their work this weekend for free.
"I've got three prints that are gonna be showing, I've got 20 prints showing on the slide show" said Mike Berube, who flew from Toronto.
The festival is only in town for three days so visitors will have to catch it fast. One of the things a lot of people are going to is called "your space."
"So we came up with this idea of your space where everyone in cville or any festival attendee could come in and either share a slideshow made by apple of could go in and print free prints to hang on the wall" said Jessica Nagle, festival co-executive director.
Jessica co-designed the festival, in part to showcase the community, and almost every person working the event is a volunteer.
Reporter:"What does the next few days look like for you?"
"Busy! I just run around and do whatever needs to be done to make sure that everything runs smoothly" said Meredith Monague, festival volunteer.
Whether you want to tour the galleries or see your neighbor's personal pics the Festival of the Photograph will be on the Downtown Mall untill Saturday.
