The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority says a police officer shot two pit bulls to death at Dulles International Airport after one dog got out of its kennel and attacked the other.
The airports authority says police responded to the AirFrance cargo area of the airport Thursday for a report of a dog fight.
Airports authority spokeswoman Courtney Mickalonis says the dogs' owner dropped them off to be shipped overseas aboard Korean Air flight 94. She says the dogs arrived in separate kennels, one chewed out of its container and into the other's.
Mickalonis says the officers tried to break up the vicious fight with pepper spray but ended up having to shoot the dogs.

Well... If one was in the kennel and the other had gotten out of the kennel would it be necessary to shoot both of them. I also wonder about some kind of tranquilizer gun as an option... ?
I heard Michael Vick felt a disturbance in the force - even though he was hundreds of miles away....Bad Newz Jedi's.
So unfortunate that the dogs had to be shot. When I first saw and played with a Pit Bull many years ago the dogs were gentle and a good family pet now that people do not cock fight they use the breed pit bull and make them become savage beasts. I am a lover of animals but I have to say put them all down that are made to be savage so not to breed with another savage pit bull and just maybe the pit bull would be a safe dog. For animal lovers that say my pit bull is nice I believe u and that would be the exception to the rule a dog should protect his owner but not attack any one on the street when they become loose. For other dogs that is charactorized in the same fashion this is not what GOD intended these animals for.
