Mother Running For City School Board

June 13, 2007

A mother has announced her candidacy for Charlottesville City School Board.

Kathleen Gavin says that her experience volunteering in the community gives her insight into the issues of growth and poverty.

"So on multiple levels I feel I know the city, I know the school. I love public education. I believe the well being of both the city and public schools are inextricably linked" said Gavin.

Gavin has two children that are in Charlottesville schools.
