The local economy and the real estate business appears to be slowly improving. The Charlottesville-Albemarle Association of Realtors reports home sales are up by thirty homes over the last six months compared to last year.
Also, the inventory of homes has fallen under 3,100.
The head of the local Realtors group believes that number will continue to drop, which is good news for anyone trying to sell a home.

Actually, I said sales were up by approximately 30 sales, not 30%. The year/quarter are not over, but we should sell approximately 30 more homes in the last 6 months of 2009 than the final 6 months of 2008. I wish they were up 30 percent, but if they were, I would have done more than send out a tweet about it. Heck, we may have had a parade! Merry Christmas to all my friends at the Newsplex.
