Christmas elves spent Thursday helping patients on the seventh floor Oncology Unity of Martha Jefferson Hospital. Nurses dressed up as Santa's helpers to help spread holiday spirit throughout the unit at Martha Jefferson. They say being at the hospital during the holidays is especially hard on patients.
"Nobody wants to be in the hospital for Christmas, let alone for any other holiday. So, it's kind of a fun way to lighten the mood and just help them remember what we're celebrating and have a little fun," said Jennifer Branham, a registered nurse at Martha Jefferson Hospital.
Branham says the nurses dress up for Halloween and Christmas, and it always brings a smile to the faces of their patients.

It's nice to here there is still some kindness in the world. No matter if it's a hospital or an elder care facility we should all visit our loved ones when they are in these places.I remember singing to the people in Towers hospital years ago and how much they enjoyed it.It's so sad to see people in those places who's family put them in ther and forgot them. God bless the ones who still care.
