Students from area high schools got to experience first hand Tuesday what it's like to work in the health care field.

A group of 10th graders put on real scrubs at Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville and got to learn how to take blood pressure, give CPR, and shadowed real nurses on the job.

"I want to be a nurse practitioner or a doctor, so I wanted to get involved and have more interest and knowledge about it," said Kendall Farley, a 10th grader at Monticello High School.

The experience is part of a two-day camp at Martha Jefferson Hospital to give students with an interest in working in health care real life exposure.

"The staff is always excited. It's not hard to find people to find people who want to participate, and finding nurses with them to shadow was not hard to do because we love having students here," said Jackie Martin, Director of Community Benefit at MJH.

The camp wraps up on Wednesday.
