It may be a friendly competition, but police are preparing themselves for real life missions. Wednesday, the Albemarle County SWAT Team put their skills to the test at the 7th Annual Harrisonburg Police SWAT Competition.

Albemarle was one of 12 teams competing. They participated in shooting events and an obstacle course.

Sergeant Scott Cox with the Albemarle County Police says, "We really work well together. Everyone knows what the other person is going to do before we have to even say anything and that's what brings this team really close. They are shooting for the best time."

The team with the fastest times and the lowest score wins.

Lieutenant Ernie Allen with the Albemarle County Police says his team can learn from each other and share and receive good information with other teams.

Albemarle won last year. This year, State Police won overall. Albemarle had the fastest time for the obstacle course.
