Two people are suffering from serious injuries after their vehicles collided on Route 53 in Albemarle County.
Police say, a cement truck overturned onto an oncoming car as it rounded a curve, sending both vehicles down an embankment. The two drivers were both rushed to the hospital.
A third car suffered minor damage.
Police say, so far, no charges have been filed.
"According to witnesses, they believe that the cement truck did go over the line and was going too fast, but it is still being investigated," said Cpl. Mike Hintz.
The roadway is expected to be opened some time Thursday afternoon.
