Morva Sentenced To 38 Years

June 30, 2007

A Montgomery County judge sentenced William Morva to 38 years in prison for several counts of attempted robbery.

Morva was awaiting trial on those charges when he escaped from custody and fled to the campus of Virginia Tech last August.

Morva is now charged with killing a hospital security guard and a deputy sheriff in Blacksburg during his escape, which prompted Virginia Tech to shutdown and evacuate their campus on the first day of classes.

Morva is scheduled back in court in September on capital murder charges.
