Hockey Players Suit Up For Cancer

June 30, 2007

Hockey players from Richmond suited up Saturday to play for a cause. It was a fundraiser to raise money to help fight cancer. Some players even grew mohawks and dyed them hot pink in honor of breast cancer research.

"We do a game in Richmond every year and previous to that we go and visit the Massey Cancer Institute and visit the kids. That's where you learn why you're out here and it doesn't matter how many people were here, we're playing with a lot of people in our hearts and that's what's important. We're just doing whatever we can," said participant Lee Stryker.

Lee says they will be playing hard into Saturday night, checks and all. They're hoping to bring in a good crowd to raise some money for cancer research.
