Two kids from New York City were dropped off to host families today here in Charlottesville.
They're part of a program called The Fresh Air Fund. Organizers take kids ages 6-18 from the city and place them in homes throughout Canada and the Northwest for part of the summer.
Many of the kids have never even been outside the city before.
The program gives them the opportunity to bike, hike, fish, and be physically active in the great outdoors.
The Parks' family of Charlottesville already has four teenagers, but for the past five years, 15 year-old Dave has come to stay with the family.
"Every time he comes here all he wants to do is be outside and that's fine with me because I love it too" said 13 year-old Jessica Parks.
This summer Dave and the other kids from New York will stay with their host families for 3 1/2 weeks.
