The University of Virginia Fund of the Alumni Association has set up a relief fund to provide assistance to three students who lost their home in a house fire
No one was injured in the Feb. 8 fire, but three doctoral students lost everything and have been forced to find other places to live.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The Office of the Dean of Students is providing assistance as these students deal with the many issues they confront in relocating while pursuing their studies.
UVa said any donations from the public will go to help these students defray the cost of setting up another home while they complete this semester at the university. Any remaining funds will be held in perpetuity for future students that may find themselves faced with a similar disaster.
