Forbes.com has named Virginia the top state for business. Governor Kaine made the announcement Wednesday.
The review examined several factors including business cost, regulatory climate, quality of the workforce, and economic growth.Virginia finished in the top 10 in four of the six main categories.
The commonwealth finished 1st in regulatory environment, 5th in the quality of its workforce, 6th in overall quality of life, and 8th in prospects and growth.
Overall, Utah was ranked second, followed by North Carolina, Texas and Washington. Idaho, Florida, Colorado, North Dakota and Minnesota rounded out the Forbes.com top 10 states.
This is the second consecutive year that Virginia has been awarded the top spot.
