More than 100 Albemarle County students got a lesson in filmmaking Thursday.
The group of Sutherland sixth graders is working with Monticello and the Journey through Hallowed Ground Partnership to create four history documentaries.
Students will write, film and produce videos that Monticello will display for years to come.
Monticello staff say this is the first time it will show visitors a documentary through a child's eyes.
"I think it's a different, interesting point of view because adults think of it as a way adults would be interested, but kids would be more interested in this," student Kinsey Cox said.
After students pick a topic, they'll start production next month.
