Charlottesville Police are investigating an early morning breaking and entering incident at a local hardware store in the 900 block of Preston Avenue.
Bobby Irving is the owner of Meadowbrook Hardware on Preston Avenue. When he arrived to open the store Wednesday morning, he found the glass on the front door broken and money on the floor inside. Irving says he backed right out of the store and called Charlottesville Police.
Irving is not certain how much cash was stolen, although the money on the floor would indicate the person left in a hurry. Irving doesn't believe the burglar left with any stolen hardware.
