Albemarle High School won its ninth consecutive year in the Regional Forensics Tournament, Saturday. Eleven schools from the region competed against each other, traveling to Albemarle from Loudon County, Prince William and Fluvanna.

Forensics is a speech competition where students compete in ten different categories including storytelling, debate and prose.

The next stop for Albemarle High is Harrisonburg, where they will compete against the best in the state.

The school's Forensics coach, Faye Cunningham says, "The students won't tolerate anything from each other other than excellence. It's not just that I am promoting that, it's that they bring out the best in each other."

Albemarle High also won Districts this year taking home their tenth consecutive victory in that competition.

The State competition will take place in April.
