Morva Murder Trial Moving To Montgomery County

August 1, 2007

The capital murder trial for William Morva, the man accused of killing a sheriff's deputy and a hospital security guard near Virginia Tech, will be held in Montgomery County a judge ruled Wednesday.

Attorneys for Morva argued that the 25-year-old would not be able to get a fair trial in Blacksburg. Morva faces three counts of capital murder Cpl. Eric Sutphin, of the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, and hospital security guard Derrick McFarland.

The trial is scheduled to begin on September 17th.
