Starting Friday, you won't have to pay taxes on any approved back to school item. The tax exemption applies at all stores state wide. Retailers say since this has begun it has become a big hit with shoppers and they expect a boost in sales.

“Over this weekend we expect to do probably an additional 30 percent in revenue, just by having this event, so that's a huge lift for us and that's a huge opportunity to have people to come to best buy and shop with us as well,” said George Moses, Best Buy General Manager.

The exemption begins Friday morning at 12:01a.m. and ends at midnight on Sunday.
