A rally by appreciative taxpayers took place Wednesday afternoon outside the Albemarle County Office Building.

Officials said the theme of the rally is to congratulate the supervisors for holding the line on taxes and to encourage them to continue to find ways to run Albemarle more effectively and efficiently.

The event was organized by the Albemarle Truth in Taxation Alliance

"Albemarle supervisors broke a long-standing 'tax first, tax only' mentality earlier this month when it recommended a tax cut for the property owners of Albemarle County -- the right decision in these economically challenging times," said Keith Drake, ATTA chair.

Those who rallied received pizza and root beer, compliments of ATTA.
