Greene County residents gave input Tuesday night on what they'd like to do to prevent local roads from becoming a traffic nightmare.

Residents gave Butch Davies of the Commonwealth Transportation Board feedback as he introduced the idea of more roads in the community.

"One of the challenges that Greene faces is the development occurring in the 29 corridor you already see what’s happening in Albemarle" he said "Greene is looking at it and the point that they made tonight is they're looking in a space of about four maybe four and a half miles, they're looking at 9 traffic lights over the next 3 years".

Some residents expressed concern about the proposed road expansion because it is close to where they live.

Davies, along with other members of the Commonwealth Transportation Board will be hosting other 'talk-backs' like this one across the state as roads need to be further developed.

This project in Greene County will likely not happen for 6 years.
