For years Linda Boudreaux Montgomery has been illustrating Virginia's history with the stroke of a brush.

She's mastered Monticello, Montpelier, Ash Lawn and Michie Tavern. Now, her canvas reflects more personal histories.

"It's the personal things they don't think are important, but then once they see the painting it's like, 'Oh my God'. You even put in the yellow t-shirt I used to wear as a teenager!" said Montgomery, the owner of Corner House Gallery in Orange, VA.

She captures these details from pictures or e-mails people send her.

Then using acrylics, Linda allows her creativity to wrap years of memories around a winding road of someone's life story with her creativity navigating the way.

Linda also plans to begin painting for Mount Vernon later this year. If you are interested in your own history painting click on the gallery websites provided.
