Still No Plea Deal For Vick Yet

August 16, 2007

Michael Vick is reportedly still working with his attorneys and federal prosecutors on a plea agreement but have not struck a deal yet, according to a lawyer familiar with the case.

The lawyer spoke on condition of anonymity because of the ongoing discussions. Vick's legal team has declined to comment.

Vick has pleaded not guilty to dogfighting conspiracy charges. He said in a hearing last month that he was looking forward to clearing his name at trial scheduled for November.

Since then one of Vick's co-defendants changed his plea to guilty and agreed to testify against Vick and his two remaining co-defendants are scheduled to appear in court to do the same Friday.
