A priest charged with embezzling hundreds of thousands of dollars from his congregations in Louisa County is now facing federal charges.

Reverend Rodney Rodis was charged by the State of Virginia last year.

Charges came about after the reverend allegedly stole the money from his two churches in Mineral.

On Tuesday, a federal grand jury indicted the reverend on charges including mail fraud, wire fraud and money laundering.

All state charges will likely be dropped so that the federal authorities can take over the case.
