On a Richmond radio station Wednesday Fred Thompson said that he was close to making an announcement on whether or not he will make a Presidential run.
The former Tennessee senator and "Law and Order" actor made his comments on a show guest-hosted by another former Republican senator, Virginia's George Allen, on WRVA.
Thompson said everybody seems to be announcing a lot earlier than normal, but he's operating on a more traditional time frame. He says the law allows potential candidates to take some time to get their organization together, raise money and assess public reaction and that's what he's doing.
Thompson told Allen "We're not allowed to announce before we announce, but I can tell you that it won't be very many more days before I'll be making a statement on it."
