Area Kids Compete In Triathlon

August 26, 2007

Sunday was the fourth annual Charlottesville-Albemarle Youth Triathlon.

Kids ages seven to fourteen swam, biked, and ran their way through the course. All the money raised goes to the Charlottesville obesity task force.

Organizers say Sunday's triathlon is focused on sportsmanship and making healthy choices.

"This is really geared to promote activity, promote youth exercise, and health and well being," said safety coordinator Kim Starr.

More than 100 children registered for Sunday's triathlon. Organizers say they hope even more come out next year.
