Nationally gas is averaging around $2.77 per gallon. AAA expects travel over the Labor Day holiday weekend to be flat as the number of travelers holds steady from last year with 0.2 % growth.

Despite national travel holding steady, the number of Virginians expected to travel this Labor Day has decreased by 1.2 percent. AAA estimates that over 858,000 Virginians will be among the 34.6 million Americans traveling 50 miles or more.
