Orange County High School Locks Down

September 5, 2007

Orange County High School was placed on lock down Wednesday afternoon after an incident close to the school.

Officials placed the school on lockdown at 2:50 p.m. as a precautionary measure in order to ensure the safety of students and staff in the building while the Orange County Sheriff's Department worked on an incident on Black Run Road.

A neighbor of the school called police and said she saw a man sitting with a rifle and a knife. Police then immediately locked down the school. Classes will be back to normal tomorrow. Meanwhile sheriffs are still looking for the man in question.

If you have any information you're asked to call police.
