A motorcyclist was killed Saturday evening after colliding with an SUV in Charlottesville.
Virginia State Police say the collision happened as Aaron Emerson Boyd, 29, of Charlottesville, was merging onto I-64 from Route 29.
Boyd lost control of his motorcycle, was ejected from it and fell into another lane of traffic. A pick-up truck traveling eastbound then struck Boyd, killing him almost instantly.
Boyd had been traveling back from a fundraiser in Lynchburg.
One lane of I-64 and the ramp from Route 29 were both closed from about 5:30pm to 6:30pm Saturday.
Police say the driver of the truck did not have time to react and will not be charged with any wrongdoing.
