Authorities in Fairfax and Loudoun counties are seeking the public's help in finding the mother of a newborn baby whose body was found in a trash truck.
Garbage collectors made the horrific discovery Saturday morning in Great Falls as they were transferring trash from one truck to a larger one.
The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office says the baby appeared to be full-term boy and showed no obvious signs of trauma. Investigators are awaiting the final results of an autopsy.
The baby is believed to come from the Sterling area, though the refuse company made some stops in Great Falls too.
Authorities say they are concerned about the health of the mother.
